# Know which competitor changes matter, in one digest

RivalNote is for B2B SaaS teams. It reads your competitors' pricing, changelog and hiring pages, keeps a snapshot of each, and has Claude write up what changed. Every insight gets a score from 0 to 100 and one recommended action. You read a weekly or daily digest, and Slack gets the big ones.

- Early access, by conversation
- Digest by e-mail, Slack alerts on Growth and Pro

The routine

## Someone opens the same competitor tabs every week.

The pricing page, the changelog, the careers page. A screenshot goes into Slack, and by next quarter nobody remembers what moved. RivalNote does the reading and keeps the history.

### By hand

- You compare a page with your memory of last week's version.
- A footer edit looks the same as a price change until you read it.
- The findings live in screenshots and chat threads.
- It stops when the person who did it gets busy.

### With RivalNote

- Each page is stored as a snapshot and compared with the previous one.
- Legal, cookie, footer and navigation edits are filtered out unless they change pricing, product, hiring or positioning.
- Every insight carries the changed line it is based on.
- Digests are archived, so the history stays searchable.

How it works

## From a competitor URL to a ranked insight.

1. Step 1 · Add
   ### Add competitors and sources
Paste each competitor's URL. A plan holds 3, 10 or 25 competitors, and each can have extra sources such as a pricing page or an RSS feed.
2. Step 2 · Diff
   ### RivalNote scans and compares
It fetches the site, its feeds and a few linked public pages within a fixed budget, and stores a snapshot. The first scan only records a baseline. Later scans are compared against it.
3. Step 3 · Score
   ### Claude writes and ranks
From the diff, Claude writes up to five insights per changed page, each with evidence, a recommended action and an importance score from 0 to 100. OpenAI is the fallback.
4. Step 4 · Deliver
   ### You read the digest
A digest by e-mail, weekly on Monday or each weekday, at the hour and time zone you set. On Growth and Pro, insights at or above your threshold (70 by default) also go to Slack.

One insight

## Not a diff. A short note with its evidence.

Each insight has the same fields, so you can scan a digest quickly and check the claim against the changed line.

[What RivalNote watches and how it scores](https://rivalnote.com/signals/)

**headline**

One sentence, up to 100 characters.

**body**

Two to four sentences of supporting detail.

**category**

One of the eleven categories, such as pricing-change or hiring-signal.

**evidence**

The changed line or lines the insight rests on, quoted or paraphrased.

**recommended action**

One concrete step you could take this week, written as an instruction.

**importance**

A score from 0 to 100 that decides ranking in the digest and whether Slack is pinged.

**confidence**

A score from 0 to 100 for how well the changed lines support the insight.

**direction**

Threat, opportunity or neutral.

**owner team**

Product, sales, marketing, customer success, exec or other.

**source URL**

The public page the change was found on.

Your settings

## You decide what reaches you.

The model scores every insight, and your settings bend the result.

**Watch terms**

Themes you care about. Material insights that match them score higher.

**Muted categories**

Turn off a category, such as content-shift, and it stops competing for your attention.

**Relationship and priority**

Mark each competitor as direct, adjacent, aspirational or watch, with a priority from 1 to 5.

**Alert threshold and quiet hours**

Slack alerts fire at or above your threshold, 70 by default, and stay quiet in the hours you set.

**Suppression rules**

Silence alerts that match a rule, for example by source kind.

**Triage**

Mark an insight read, saved, dismissed, completed or already known, and set a reminder.

Who it is for

## Teams that track a few competitors closely.

### Product leads and founders

You want a short, ranked read on pricing, launches and hiring at the companies you are measured against, without keeping a spreadsheet of tabs.

### Sales and marketing

On Pro, a battlecard, a meeting brief, a SWOT and a sales brief with talking points and objection handlers are generated from the same insights.

[Talk to us about Pro](https://wa.me/5548992091242?text=Hi!%20I%20would%20like%20to%20talk%20about%20RivalNote%20Pro.%20%28From%3A%20plan-pro%29)

**Founding teams:** the first 10 teams keep $99 a month for life on any plan.

The terms are agreed in the conversation with the founder.

Annual billing comes to two months free. The full comparison is on the [pricing page](https://rivalnote.com/pricing/).

API and CLI

## Pull insights into your own tools.

On Pro, create API keys and use `rn`, a command-line client over the public REST API. Output is a table, JSON or CSV, and it exits non-zero on error, so it fits a cron job or a CI step.

Questions

## What people ask before they start.

**Is RivalNote open yet?**

Not yet. Access is early and starts with a conversation: message the founder on WhatsApp and say which competitors you track. There is no self-serve registration on this site.

**What does RivalNote actually watch?**

The competitor's own site (the home page and the pages it links to that look like pricing, changelog or careers), the feeds and sitemaps the site advertises, and a few public pages linked from it, such as job boards on Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby, release notes, status pages and review pages. You can also add a source by hand, like a pricing page or an RSS feed.

A scan makes at most 8 requests to the competitor's own domain and 3 to every other host, with a 10 second gap between requests to the same domain.

**How does it decide what matters?**

Claude scores each insight from 0 to 100. The prompt puts pricing changes, major launches, leadership changes and hiring spikes in core roles at 80 to 100, meaningful messaging shifts and secondary launches at 50 to 79, and minor copy edits below that.

You can adjust the result with watch terms, muted categories, and a relationship and priority for each competitor.

**Which AI models does it use, and what do they see?**

Claude is the primary model and OpenAI is the fallback. They receive the text difference between two snapshots of a competitor page, plus the competitor context, watch terms and business context you entered (company, product, positioning). They do not receive your e-mail address or payment details.

**Can it be wrong?**

Yes. It reads public pages only, and a model can misread a change. Each insight shows the changed line it is based on and a confidence score, so you can check it. A page that could not be fetched is carried over from the last snapshot instead of being reported as removed. A section counts as removed only on evidence, such as a 404, a 410 or a permanent redirect to the home page.

**What does it cost?**

Starter is $99 a month, Growth $199 and Pro $499, in US dollars. Annual billing works out to two months free. Details and limits are on the [pricing page](https://rivalnote.com/pricing/).

**Can my own tools read the data?**

On Pro there are API keys and the `rn` command-line client. Growth and Pro can also export insights as CSV or JSON. See [API and CLI](https://rivalnote.com/api-and-cli/).

**Do I install anything on my site?**

No. RivalNote reads public pages from the outside, and there is no tracking code to add. Slack is connected through Slack's own install flow.

## Tell the founder which competitors you track.

RivalNote is in early access. The way in is a short WhatsApp conversation, not a sign-up form.
